Item #: FOC-068

Object Class: Arcane

Name: The Toothbrush

Containment Protocols: FOC-068 is to be stored within a sealed containment chamber at Site V.  Access to the chamber requires Level 4 clearance and is restricted to authorized PSA personnel. The chamber must be equipped with reinforced memetic shielding to prevent unintended exposure to the object's effects. Any experimentation or interaction with FOC-068 is strictly prohibited.

Description: FOC-068 is a seemingly ordinary toothbrush with a cyan-blue color and clean bristles. Notably, the brand name on the toothbrush's handle has been intentionally removed, leaving a chipped area. On initial inspection, no anomalous properties are discernible. However, once FOC-068 is used for brushing, it triggers an irreversible memetic effect in the user.

Upon each stroke of FOC-068 during brushing, the user enters a trance-like state, under the impression that they are removing typical dental plaque. However, each brushstroke gradually consumes the user's lifeforce, causing rapid aging and physical deterioration. Despite the detrimental effects, the memetic influence prevents users from realizing their deteriorating health.

As the user continues brushing, distortions manifest within a radius of approximately 10 meters. These distortions result in unstable reality, leading to the emergence of anomalous phenomena such as spatial warping, temporal fluctuations, and gravitational disruptions. The severity of distortions escalates as the user's lifeforce diminishes.

The memetic trance persists until the user succumbs to age-related ailments, at which point the localized reality collapse ceases. Upon the user's demise, the effects of FOC-068 cease, and the environment gradually stabilizes.

Test Log - FOC-068:

Test Subject: A-Class personnel designated A-1421
Procedure: A-1421 was instructed to expose FOC-068 to various types of dental surfaces and substances to assess potential triggers of its memetic effect. Interaction with the object was limited to visual inspection and controlled handling.
Results: A-1421 reported no observable changes or effects while examining FOC-068 visually or manipulating it with gloved hands. Dental surfaces and substances of various compositions were used to interact with FOC-068, including artificial teeth, organic tooth material, and dental hygiene products. No memetic influence or anomalous effects were detected during the experiment.

Note: Due to the hazardous nature of FOC-068's effects, live experimentation with human subjects is prohibited. As such, interactions with FOC-068 are limited to controlled handling by authorized A-Class personnel. Memetic shielding must be maintained and regularly assessed to prevent unintended exposure to the object's anomalous influence. In the interest of safety, all research and containment efforts related to FOC-068 must be conducted remotely, employing robotic systems and automated procedures to minimize personnel exposure.
