Item #: FOC-098 (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K)
Object Class: Docile
Name: I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X
Containment Protocols: FOC-098 (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K) are to be stored in a designated containment chamber at Site V. Each tombstone is to be individually housed within its own secure compartment, organized in chronological order based on the roman numerals (I, II, III, IV... X). Access to the containment chamber is restricted to personnel with Level 3 clearance and above. All interactions with FOC-098 instances for research purposes require the approval of the Site L Containment Supervisor.
Description: FOC-098 (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K) comprises a series of docile class anomalies, each taking the form of a tombstone inscribed with a roman numeral (I, II, III, IV... X) denoting their sequential order. These tombstones exhibit no unusual deviations from standard gravestones in terms of their composition, material, design, or inscription, except for the anomalous effects they invoke upon physical contact.
Upon establishing physical contact with any of the tombstones, an instantaneous temporal relocation event is initiated. This event results in the subject's immediate transfer to the exact moment when the individual interred beneath the corresponding tombstone passed away. The temporal relocation process grants the subject the ability to assume an intangible and invisible state of disembodied consciousness, allowing them to observe events occurring at the chosen temporal point.
Notably, individuals present within the chosen temporal context remain entirely unaware of the subject's presence, rendering the subject impervious to detection by both the deceased and any living entities in close proximity. Although the subject retains the capability to perceive their surroundings and interact with them, limitations hinder meaningful engagement. The subject cannot communicate with those around them, exert influence on the environment, or be sensed by the individuals present.
While the subject's perception of the surroundings remains intact, auditory and tactile sensations are distorted during temporal relocation. These sensations are often experienced as muted or fragmented impressions, with auditory stimuli presenting as muffled or incoherent sounds, and tactile interactions manifesting as vague and distant sensations.
FOC-098 instances offer an extraordinary opportunity for controlled investigation of historical events and the dynamics of past eras. Researchers and historians can utilize these anomalies to gather firsthand insights into pivotal moments while maintaining a position of silent observation. The limitations of interaction and sensory experience, however, underscore the complexities of utilizing FOC-098 instances for meaningful research and engagement with historical contexts.
